The business

A small shop. Real growth.

LJE Landscaping is a lawn care company in Hatboro, PA, co-owned by our founder, Victor Lasher. Last season it did around $13,000. This season it's closing in on $30,000.

LJE had 50 customers this year. Nine carried over from last season. The other 41 were new.

That happened because Victor learned to run Meta ads and rebuilt how LJE markets itself. Everything Scaled Marketing now runs for clients was built and tested here first, with our own money on the line.

The math

What a customer is actually worth.

This is the part most owners miss, and it's why ads worked better than anyone expected. Of those 41 new customers, 17 turned into recurring clients: weekly mowing, all season.

A lead that costs $16 isn't buying a single $30 to $35 lawn cut. It's buying a customer who keeps paying week after week. The average recurring client was worth $524 across the season, and those 17 clients add up to roughly $9,000.

Not every lead turns into a customer. But at $16 a lead, one recurring client covers the ad cost of about 30 of them. That's what changes the math, and it's why we build campaigns around what a customer is worth, not what the first job pays.

The snowstorm

One storm. One post. A spring full of weekly clients.

January 22nd. A storm was coming, so LJE went hard on organic content and boosted a single post for about $15. No real campaigns yet. Twelve to fifteen people reached out for snow removal within days, far more than the crew was equipped for.

8

of those snow customers came back in April as weekly mowing clients.

Those eight are nearly half of LJE's 17 weekly clients. At $30 to $35 a cut, they were worth roughly $240 to $280 a week once mowing season started.

Proof

Straight from Meta Ads Manager.

Under $600 in total ad spend across the season. These five ad sets spent $360 and produced 22 tracked leads, about $16 each. Unedited screen capture.

Meta Ads Manager table for LJE Landscaping showing five ad sets: 6 Video Ads, 15 leads at $16.44 each for $246.59; Text Ad with Graphics, 2 leads at $9.03; July 4th Limited, 2 leads at $15.95; Text Ad, 1 lead at $8.99; Ben and Victor Vids, 2 leads at $27.40.
Five of the ad sets run in the 2026 season. Every customer counted in this case study found LJE on Facebook or Instagram: some through lead forms, some by calling, some through organic posts like the snowstorm one.
What we got wrong

Three mistakes we now check for first.

We made these with our own money so you don't have to. They're the first things we check before a dollar of your spend goes out.

Leads sat inside Meta

Meta deletes lead exports after 90 days, and some were gone by the time we looked.

Every lead goes straight into a CRM and gets an automatic text and email the moment it arrives.

Campaigns ran 3 to 7 days

Far too short for the algorithm to learn anything.

Campaigns run long enough to actually optimize before anyone judges them.

Not enough crew for the demand

LJE got buried when leads outpaced the crew.

Spend scales up gradually, and you decide when you're ready for more.
